Description

Tobradex Eye Drop contains a combination of two medications: tobramycin, an antibiotic, and dexamethasone, a corticosteroid. It is used to treat bacterial eye infections and reduce inflammation.

Tobramycin works by killing or inhibiting the growth of bacteria that cause eye infections. Dexamethasone reduces inflammation, redness, and swelling in the eye. This combination is used when there is a risk of bacterial infection or when an infection is present along with inflammation.

Tobradex eye drops are typically prescribed for the treatment of:

  • Bacterial eye infections with inflammation.
  • Post-operative inflammation following eye surgery.
  • Other inflammatory eye conditions where there is a risk of bacterial infection.

Tobradex Eye Drop provides a combination of tobramycin and dexamethasone for the treatment of bacterial eye infections with inflammation.

Directions for use: Always use Tobradex eye drops exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the drops. Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a pouch. Instill the prescribed number of drops into the pouch. Close your eyes gently and avoid blinking or rubbing your eyes for a few minutes. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.

Important Information: Tobradex eye drops are a prescription medication. Inform your doctor if you have any allergies to tobramycin, dexamethasone, or any other ingredients in the medication. Disclose your medical history, particularly if you have glaucoma, cataracts, or herpes simplex infection of the eye. Long-term use of steroids can increase the risk of glaucoma or cataracts. Do not wear contact lenses while using Tobradex. Tobradex can cause side effects, including burning, stinging, itching, blurred vision, and increased eye pressure. Inform your doctor about all other medications you are using, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements, as interactions can occur. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface, including your eye, to avoid contamination. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature away from moisture and light.
