Lotevan 10/320Mg 30Tab is a combination medication containing two active ingredients: amlodipine besylate and valsartan. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily. Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance in the body that narrows blood vessels. Together, these medications work synergistically to lower blood pressure.
Lotevan tablets are used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Lowering blood pressure helps to prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.
This combination medication is often prescribed when a single medication is not sufficient to control blood pressure, or when it is convenient for patients to take one tablet instead of two separate medications.
Lotevan 10/320Mg Tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. This fixed-dose combination is not indicated for initial therapy of hypertension.
Directions for use: The usual dose is one tablet once daily. The tablet should be swallowed whole and should not be crushed, chewed, or broken. Lotevan can be taken with or without food. It is important to take Lotevan regularly at the same time each day as directed by your doctor.
Important Information: Lotevan is a prescription medication. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to amlodipine, valsartan, or any other ingredients in the tablet. Also, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, liver problems, heart failure, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Certain medical conditions can affect how you should take this medication. Tell your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements, as interactions can occur, especially with other blood pressure medications, diuretics (water pills), and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Common side effects may include dizziness, lightheadedness, swelling of the ankles or feet, and fatigue. Serious side effects are rare but can occur; contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe dizziness, fainting, or symptoms of an allergic reaction (e.g., rash, itching, swelling). Regular monitoring of blood pressure and kidney function may be necessary during treatment. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place.
