    Description

Vigamox Eye Drop contains moxifloxacin hydrochloride, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It is a sterile ophthalmic solution used to treat bacterial infections of the eye.

Moxifloxacin works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair. By blocking these enzymes, moxifloxacin effectively kills susceptible bacteria.

Vigamox Eye Drops are primarily used for the treatment of:

    • Bacterial conjunctivitis (pinkeye), an infection of the membrane lining the eyelids and covering the white part of the eye.

Vigamox Eye Drop provides a potent fluoroquinolone antibiotic for the effective treatment of bacterial eye infections like conjunctivitis.

Directions for use: Always use Vigamox Eye Drops exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The usual dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) three times a day for 7 days. Wash your hands before using the eye drops. Tilt your head back and pull down your lower eyelid to make a small pocket. Hold the dropper tip close to your eye without touching it. Squeeze the bottle gently to release one drop into the pocket. Close your eye gently and press lightly on the inner corner of your eye for 1 to 2 minutes to help prevent the medication from draining away. If you are using other eye medications, wait at least 5 minutes between using each medication. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including your eye, to prevent contamination. Do not wear contact lenses if you have a bacterial eye infection. If you do wear contact lenses, remove them before using Vigamox and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.

Important Information: Vigamox is a prescription medication. Inform your doctor if you have any allergies to moxifloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics. Disclose your medical history, particularly if you have any tendon problems or nerve damage. Prolonged use of antibiotics may sometimes result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi. If your eye infection does not improve within a few days or if it worsens, contact your doctor. Stop using Vigamox and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. Inform your doctor about all other medications you are using, including other eye drops or ointments. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination. Discard the bottle 28 days after opening, even if there is still some solution left.
