Description
Vexal XR 37.5Mg 14Cap contains venlafaxine hydrochloride, a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) antidepressant. The “XR” stands for extended-release, indicating that the capsules are designed to release the medication slowly over an extended period. The “37.5Mg” indicates that each capsule contains 37.5 milligrams of venlafaxine (as the hydrochloride). The “14Cap” signifies that the pack contains 14 capsules.
Venlafaxine works by affecting chemical messengers in the brain, specifically serotonin and norepinephrine. By preventing their reuptake (reabsorption) by nerve cells, venlafaxine increases the levels of these neurotransmitters in the synaptic space, which can help to improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety disorders.
Vexal XR 37.5mg capsules are often used as a starting dose or for dose adjustments in the treatment of:
- Major depressive disorder (MDD).
- Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
- Social anxiety disorder (social phobia).
- Panic disorder.
Vexal XR 37.5Mg 14Cap provides a lower strength of extended-release venlafaxine, often used to initiate treatment or for titration in managing depression and various anxiety disorders.
Directions for use: Always take Vexal XR 37.5mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The usual starting dose is often 37.5mg once daily, and your doctor may gradually increase the dose depending on your response and tolerability. It is typically taken once daily, at the same time each day. Swallow the capsules whole with water; do not crush, chew, or open them. Vexal XR should be taken with food. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully regarding the dosage and duration of treatment.
Important Information: Vexal XR is a prescription medication. Inform your doctor if you have any allergies to venlafaxine or any other ingredients in the medication. Disclose your medical history, particularly if you have high blood pressure, heart problems, liver or kidney disease, a history of seizures, bipolar disorder, or glaucoma. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Venlafaxine can cause side effects, including nausea, headache, dizziness, insomnia, drowsiness, dry mouth, sweating, and sexual dysfunction. Serious side effects, although rare, can occur. Be aware of potential changes in mood, behavior, or suicidal thoughts, especially when starting treatment or changing doses, and report any such changes to your doctor immediately. Avoid abrupt discontinuation of Vexal XR, as it can lead to withdrawal symptoms. Your doctor will advise on how to gradually reduce the dose when stopping treatment. Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements, as interactions can occur, especially with MAO inhibitors, other antidepressants, and certain pain medications. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Vexal XR. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature away from moisture and light.
