Description
Vermox Susp 30Ml is an oral suspension containing mebendazole, an anthelmintic medication. The “30Ml” indicates the volume of the suspension in the bottle.
Mebendazole works by preventing worms from absorbing sugars (glucose) that they need for energy. This eventually leads to the death of the worms. Vermox suspension is a liquid formulation that is easier to administer, especially to children and individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets. It is effective against a range of common intestinal worms.
Vermox Suspension is typically used to treat infections caused by:
- Threadworms (pinworms).
- Roundworms.
- Whipworms.
- Hookworms.
Sometimes it is used to treat infections caused by more than one type of worm at the same time.
Vermox Susp 30Ml provides mebendazole in a palatable liquid form for the effective treatment of various common intestinal worm infections in both children and adults.
Directions for use: The dosage of Vermox suspension depends on the type of worm infection being treated. For threadworms (pinworms), the usual dose for adults and children over 2 years is 5 ml as a single dose. A second dose may be needed after 2 weeks if re-infection occurs. For roundworms, whipworms, and hookworms, the usual dose for adults and children over 2 years is 5 ml twice daily for three consecutive days. Shake the bottle well before use. Use the measuring spoon or cup provided with the medication to ensure accurate dosing. It is not necessary to fast or use laxatives before taking Vermox. Follow the dosage instructions provided on the packaging or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Important Information: Vermox suspension is available without a prescription in some countries for threadworm infections, but it is always best to consult a doctor or pharmacist for advice, especially for other types of worm infections. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to mebendazole or any other ingredients in the suspension. Disclose your medical history, particularly if you have liver disease or are pregnant or breastfeeding. While Vermox is generally well-tolerated, some people may experience mild and temporary stomach pain, diarrhea, or headache. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor. Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements. Good hygiene practices, such as frequent handwashing, are important to prevent the spread of worm infections and re-infection. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature. Do not freeze. Check the expiry date on the bottle before use.
