Description
Uralyt-U Granules contain potassium sodium hydrogen citrate, a urinary alkalinizer. This medication is used to dissolve uric acid kidney stones and to prevent the formation of new uric acid and cystine stones.
Uralyt-U works by increasing the pH of the urine, making it more alkaline. This increased alkalinity helps to dissolve existing uric acid stones and prevents the crystallization of uric acid and cystine in the urinary tract, thus reducing the risk of stone formation.
Uralyt-U Granules are typically prescribed for:
- Dissolving uric acid kidney stones.
- Preventing the formation of uric acid kidney stones (urate nephrolithiasis).
- Preventing the formation of cystine kidney stones (cystinuria).
Uralyt-U Granules effectively alkalinize the urine to dissolve and prevent the recurrence of uric acid and cystine kidney stones.
Directions for use: Always take Uralyt-U Granules exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage is individualized and depends on the desired urine pH. Your doctor will instruct you on how to measure your urine pH using test strips and adjust the dose accordingly. The granules should be dissolved in a glass of water and taken two to three times daily, usually with meals. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.
