Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic medication used to treat various mental health conditions by affecting the balance of certain natural chemicals (neurotransmitters) in the brain, such as dopamine and serotonin.
Risperdal 2mg tablets may be prescribed for the treatment of:
- Schizophrenia, a chronic mental illness with symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking, often requiring consistent management with an effective dose.
- Bipolar disorder, specifically manic or mixed episodes, where a sufficient dose is needed to stabilize mood and reduce associated symptoms.
