Description

Pantoloc 40Mg 15Tab contains pantoprazole as its active ingredient. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by reducing the amount of acid produced by the stomach. It does this by blocking the enzyme in the stomach lining that produces acid.

Pantoloc 40mg tablets are commonly used to treat conditions such as:

  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition where stomach acid frequently flows back into the esophagus, causing heartburn and other symptoms.
  • Erosive esophagitis, damage to the lining of the esophagus caused by stomach acid.
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a rare condition where the stomach produces too much acid.
  • Prevention of stomach ulcers caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in patients at risk.

The “40Mg” indicates the strength of pantoprazole in each tablet, which is 40 milligrams. The “15Tab” signifies that the pack contains 15 tablets.

Pantoloc 40Mg Tablets are used to reduce stomach acid production and treat conditions like GERD, erosive esophagitis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, as well as to prevent NSAID-induced stomach ulcers in at-risk individuals.

Directions for use: Always take Pantoloc 40mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The usual dose for GERD and erosive esophagitis is one 40 mg tablet once daily. For Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, the starting dose may be higher and adjusted by your doctor. For the prevention of NSAID-induced ulcers, the usual dose is also 40 mg once daily. The tablets should be swallowed whole with water and can be taken with or without food. However, it is often recommended to take PPIs before a meal. Do not crush or chew the tablets.

Important Information: Pantoloc is a prescription medication. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to pantoprazole or any other proton pump inhibitors (like omeprazole, lansoprazole) or any other ingredients in the tablet. Tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have liver problems or low magnesium levels in your blood. Long-term use of PPIs may be associated with an increased risk of hip, wrist, and spine fractures, especially in older adults. Discuss this risk with your doctor. Pantoloc may interact with other medications, so it is important to inform your doctor about all other drugs you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking Pantoloc. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature away from moisture and light.
