Ondansetron 4Mg/2Ml is an injectable solution containing 4 milligrams of ondansetron in 2 milliliters of solution. Ondansetron is an antiemetic medication that belongs to the class of serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the action of serotonin, a natural substance in the body that can cause nausea and vomiting. This medication is primarily used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by various factors, including:
- Chemotherapy and radiotherapy for cancer treatment.
- Surgery (postoperative nausea and vomiting – PONV).
The solution is administered intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM) by a healthcare professional.
