Description
Novonorm 2Mg 30Tab contains repaglinide as its active ingredient. Repaglinide is an oral antidiabetic medication belonging to the class of drugs known as meglitinides. It works by stimulating the release of insulin from the beta cells of the pancreas. This insulin release is glucose-dependent, meaning that it primarily occurs when blood glucose levels are high, such as after a meal.
Novonorm is used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to help control blood sugar levels. It is typically used in conjunction with diet and exercise and may be used alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetic medications, such as metformin.
The “2Mg” indicates the strength of repaglinide in each tablet, which is 2 milligrams. The “30Tab” signifies that the pack contains 30 tablets.
Novonorm 2Mg Tablets are indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control in adults.
Directions for use: Novonorm tablets should be taken orally just before each main meal (usually within 15 minutes before the start of the meal, but can be taken up to 30 minutes before). If you skip a meal, you should also skip the dose of Novonorm for that meal. If you eat an extra meal, you should take an extra dose of Novonorm. The dosage is individualized and will be determined by your doctor based on your blood glucose levels. The tablets should be swallowed whole with water and can be taken with or without food, although it is typically taken shortly before meals.
Important Information: Novonorm is a prescription medication. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to repaglinide or any other ingredients in the tablet. Tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have liver problems, kidney problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Novonorm can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Be aware of the symptoms of low blood sugar, which may include sweating, shakiness, confusion, dizziness, and hunger. Always have a source of fast-acting sugar available to treat hypoglycemia. Certain medications can affect blood sugar control when taken with Novonorm; inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels is essential while taking Novonorm to determine its effectiveness and adjust the dosage as needed. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully regarding diet, exercise, and blood glucose monitoring. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
