Description
Lodipam 5Mg 30Tab contains amlodipine besylate as its active ingredient. Amlodipine belongs to a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, which allows blood to flow more easily and helps to lower blood pressure. It also helps to relieve chest pain (angina) by increasing the supply of blood to the heart muscle.
Lodipam 5mg tablets are primarily used to treat:
- Hypertension (high blood pressure).
- Chronic stable angina (chest pain).
- Vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal’s or variant angina).
By lowering blood pressure, amlodipine helps to reduce the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack. In angina, it helps to decrease the frequency and severity of chest pain.
Lodipam 5Mg Tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension and chronic stable angina. It may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive and antianginal agents.
Directions for use: The usual starting dose of amlodipine for hypertension or angina is 5 mg once daily. Your doctor may increase your dose to 10 mg once daily depending on your blood pressure and response to the medication. Lodipam 5mg tablets should be taken orally, usually at the same time each day. They can be taken with or without food. It is important to take Lodipam regularly as prescribed by your doctor.
Important Information: Lodipam is a prescription medication. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to amlodipine or other dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers (e.g., nifedipine, felodipine). Also, tell your doctor if you have a history of heart failure, liver problems, or severe low blood pressure. Tell your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements, as interactions can occur. Common side effects may include headache, swelling of the ankles or feet, fatigue, dizziness, and flushing. Serious side effects are rare but can occur; contact your doctor immediately if you experience chest pain that is new or worsening, shortness of breath, or irregular heartbeat. Regular monitoring of blood pressure may be necessary during treatment. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place.
