Lipicure 20Mg 30Tab contains atorvastatin calcium as its active ingredient. Atorvastatin belongs to a group of medicines known as statins, or HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors. Statins work by reducing the production of cholesterol in the liver. Cholesterol is a fatty substance found in the blood, and high levels can lead to the buildup of plaque in the arteries, increasing the risk of heart disease and stroke.
Lipicure 20mg tablets are prescribed to help lower elevated levels of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C or “bad” cholesterol”), triglycerides, and apolipoprotein B in adults and children over a certain age. It also helps to increase levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C or “good” cholesterol”).
Lipicure is often used in conjunction with a low-cholesterol diet and lifestyle changes such as exercise and weight management to achieve and maintain healthy cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events.
Lipicure 20Mg Tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet to reduce elevated Total-C, LDL-C, Apo B, and Triglycerides and to increase HDL-C in adults and pediatric patients aged 10 to 17 years with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. Lipicure is also indicated to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, revascularization procedures, and angina in adults with multiple risk factors for coronary heart disease.
Directions for use: The usual starting dose of Lipicure 20mg is one tablet taken orally once a day. Your doctor may adjust your dose depending on your cholesterol levels and your response to the medication. The tablet can be taken at any time of day, with or without food. It is important to take Lipicure regularly as prescribed by your doctor and to continue following a cholesterol-lowering diet and exercise plan.
Important Information: Lipicure is a prescription medication. Inform your doctor if you have any liver problems, kidney problems, diabetes, or muscle pain or weakness. Also, tell your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements, as interactions can occur. Common side effects may include headache, nausea, diarrhea, muscle pain, and joint pain. If you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially if accompanied by fever or malaise, contact your doctor immediately. Regular blood tests may be needed to monitor your cholesterol levels and liver function. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and moisture.
