Description
Lipanthyl 145Mg 30Tab contains fenofibrate as its active ingredient. Fenofibrate belongs to a class of medications called fibrates. Fibrates work primarily by lowering triglyceride levels in the blood and increasing levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), often referred to as “good” cholesterol. They may also have a modest effect on lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), or “bad” cholesterol.
Lipanthyl 145mg tablets are prescribed to help manage lipid disorders, specifically:
- Severe hypertriglyceridemia (very high levels of triglycerides in the blood), which can increase the risk of pancreatitis.
- Mixed dyslipidemia, a condition characterized by elevated triglycerides and LDL-C, and low HDL-C.
By improving lipid profiles, fenofibrate helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events associated with abnormal cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Lipanthyl 145Mg Tablets are indicated as adjunctive therapy to diet to reduce elevated LDL-C, total-C, triglycerides, and Apo B, and to increase HDL-C in adults with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia. Lipanthyl is also indicated as adjunctive therapy to diet for treatment of adults with severe hypertriglyceridemia.
Directions for use: The usual dose of Lipanthyl 145mg is one tablet taken orally once daily. The tablet should be swallowed whole and can be taken with or without food. However, taking it with food may help to improve absorption. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully regarding the dosage and timing of your medication. It is important to continue following a lipid-lowering diet and lifestyle recommendations while taking Lipanthyl.
Important Information: Lipanthyl is a prescription medication. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to fenofibrate or other fibrates (e.g., gemfibrozil). Also, tell your doctor if you have liver problems, kidney problems, gallbladder disease, or a history of muscle problems (myopathy) while taking other cholesterol-lowering drugs. Tell your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements, as interactions can occur, especially with blood thinners (anticoagulants) and other cholesterol-lowering medications. Common side effects may include stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and headache. Serious side effects can occur; contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe abdominal pain, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), or unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness. Regular monitoring of liver function and kidney function may be necessary during treatment. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
