Description
Imigran 50Mg 6Tab contains sumatriptan succinate, a selective serotonin receptor agonist. Each tablet contains 50mg of sumatriptan. Sumatriptan works by narrowing blood vessels in the brain, which are thought to be widened during a migraine attack. It also inhibits the release of certain substances that may cause pain and other migraine symptoms.
Imigran tablets are used to treat migraine attacks with or without aura. They are most effective when taken as soon as the migraine headache begins, but can also provide relief if taken later during the attack. Imigran helps to relieve the headache pain, nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound that are often associated with migraines.
Imigran 50Mg Tablets are indicated for the acute treatment of:
- Migraine attacks with or without aura.
Directions for use: Imigran 50Mg Tablets should be taken orally with water as soon as possible after the onset of a migraine headache. The usual starting dose is one 50mg tablet. Some patients may require a 100mg dose (using two 50mg tablets). If your symptoms return after the first dose, a second dose may be taken after at least 2 hours. Do not take more than 200mg of sumatriptan in a 24-hour period. If the first dose does not provide relief, a second dose is unlikely to be effective for the same attack. Consult your doctor for guidance on the appropriate dose and management of your migraines.
Important Information: Imigran is a prescription medication. Inform your doctor about any other medical conditions you have, especially heart problems, high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, or a history of seizures. Also, tell your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements, as interactions may occur. Common side effects may include tingling or numbness, dizziness, drowsiness, feelings of warmth or flushing, and chest tightness or heaviness. If you experience severe side effects such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or signs of a stroke, seek immediate medical attention. Imigran is not for use in preventing migraines. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place.
