Gloclave 625Mg 20Tab is a combination antibiotic containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Each tablet provides a total strength of 625mg, typically consisting of amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 500mg amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate equivalent to 125mg clavulanic acid. This is a common strength prescribed for a wide range of bacterial infections in adults and older children.
Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that works by interfering with the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor, which means it helps to prevent certain bacteria from inactivating amoxicillin. Important Information: Gloclave is a prescription antibiotic and should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor. The usual dosage is one tablet two to three times daily, depending on the severity of the infection. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. It is generally recommended to take it at the start of a meal to help minimize potential stomach upset. Complete the full course of treatment prescribed by your doctor, even if you start to feel better, to ensure the infection is fully eradicated and to prevent the development of antibiotic resistance.
