Description
Gastrofait 500Mg 20Tab contains sucralfate, a medication used to treat and prevent certain types of ulcers in the stomach and intestines. Sucralfate works by forming a protective coating over ulcers, shielding them from stomach acid and enzymes, which helps them to heal.
Each pack of Gastrofait 500Mg contains 20 tablets. It is typically used for the short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcers and may also be used for maintenance therapy to prevent the recurrence of these ulcers. Additionally, it can be used to manage stress ulcers and gastric ulcers.
Gastrofait 500Mg is indicated for the treatment and prevention of:
- Duodenal ulcers.
- Gastric ulcers.
- Stress ulcers.
Important Information: Gastrofait is a prescription medication and should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor. The usual dose is one 500mg tablet four times a day, taken one hour before meals and at bedtime. For maintenance therapy, the dose may be reduced. It is important to take Gastrofait on an empty stomach. Avoid taking antacids within 30 minutes before or after taking Gastrofait, as they may interfere with its effectiveness. Inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking, as sucralfate can affect the absorption of some drugs. Be aware of potential side effects such as constipation. If your symptoms do not improve or worsen after a few weeks of treatment, consult your doctor.
