Description
Elica M Cream is a combination topical medication containing two active ingredients:
- Mometasone Furoate: A potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, itching, and redness of the skin.
- Miconazole Nitrate: An antifungal medication that helps to treat fungal infections of the skin by inhibiting the growth of fungi.
This combination cream is used to treat inflammatory skin conditions that are either already infected with fungi or are likely to become infected. It is effective against a range of fungal infections and helps to alleviate the associated inflammation and itching. Elica M Cream is typically used for conditions such as:
- Eczema or dermatitis complicated by fungal infection
- Tinea infections (ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch) with significant inflammation
- Candidiasis (yeast infection of the skin) with inflammation
- Other mixed skin infections where both inflammation and fungal growth are present
Directions for Use:
- Wash and dry the affected skin area thoroughly.
- Apply a thin layer of Elica M Cream to the affected area(s) once or twice daily, or as directed by your doctor.
- Gently rub the cream into the skin until it disappears.
- Avoid covering the treated area with bandages or other dressings unless specifically instructed by your doctor.
- Wash your hands after applying the cream, unless your hands are the treated area.
- Use Elica M Cream for the duration prescribed by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve before the treatment is complete.
Precautions:
- Inform your doctor if you have any allergies to mometasone furoate, miconazole nitrate, other corticosteroids, other azole antifungals, or any other ingredients in Elica M Cream.
- Provide your doctor with your complete medical history, especially if you have any viral skin infections (such as herpes simplex or chickenpox), tuberculosis of the skin, acne, rosacea, or perioral dermatitis.
- Long-term or excessive use of topical corticosteroids can lead to side effects such as thinning of the skin, stretch marks, changes in skin color, and increased hair growth.
- Systemic absorption of topical corticosteroids and antifungals can occur, especially if used over large areas of skin or for prolonged periods.
- Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
- Do not use Elica M Cream on broken skin or open wounds unless specifically directed by your doctor.
- If your condition does not improve or worsens after a few weeks of treatment, consult your doctor. The infection may require a different treatment.
- Consult your doctor before using Elica M Cream if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Keep this medication out of the reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical attention immediately.
- Store Elica M Cream at room temperature.
Elica M Cream is for external use only and should be used as directed by your healthcare provider. It is important to use it for the full course of treatment to effectively manage the infection and inflammation.
