Description
Dogmatil 200Mg 12Tab contains 200 milligrams of sulpiride per tablet, provided in a pack of 12 tablets. Sulpiride is an atypical antipsychotic medication that primarily affects dopamine receptors in the brain. It has a complex pharmacological profile, with different dosage ranges often used for different therapeutic effects. Dogmatil 200Mg tablets are primarily used for the treatment of:
- Psychotic disorders: Including schizophrenia, particularly negative symptoms such as apathy, social withdrawal, and lack of motivation.
- Major depressive disorder: Sometimes used as an adjunct treatment for depression, especially when accompanied by anxiety or somatic symptoms.
- Gastrointestinal disorders: In lower doses, sulpiride can be used to treat functional dyspepsia (indigestion) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), possibly by affecting gastrointestinal motility.
The specific use of Dogmatil 200Mg will depend on the individual’s diagnosis and the prescribing doctor’s judgment.
Directions for Use:
The dosage of Dogmatil 200Mg will vary significantly depending on the condition being treated and the individual’s response. For psychotic disorders, higher doses are typically used, while lower doses may be prescribed for gastrointestinal issues. Always follow your doctor’s instructions precisely regarding the dosage, frequency, and duration of treatment. The tablets are usually taken orally with water and can be taken with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablets unless instructed by your doctor.
Precautions:
- Inform your doctor if you have any allergies to sulpiride or any other medications.
- Provide your doctor with your complete medical history, especially if you have a history of breast cancer (as sulpiride can increase prolactin levels), pituitary tumors, kidney disease, liver disease, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, or heart problems (including QT prolongation).
- Sulpiride can affect the heart’s electrical activity and may increase the risk of a serious heart rhythm problem known as QT prolongation. Caution is advised, especially in individuals with pre-existing heart conditions or those taking other medications that can also affect the QT interval.
- Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS) is a rare but serious side effect that can occur with antipsychotic medications, including sulpiride. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop symptoms such as high fever, muscle rigidity, confusion, sweating, and changes in heart rate or blood pressure.
- Tardive dyskinesia, a syndrome of involuntary, repetitive movements, may occur with long-term use of antipsychotic medications. Report any unusual movements to your doctor.
- Sulpiride can increase prolactin levels, which may lead to side effects such as breast enlargement, milk production, and menstrual irregularities in women, and breast enlargement and sexual dysfunction in men.
- Drowsiness and dizziness are possible side effects, especially when starting treatment or when the dosage is increased. Exercise caution when driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
- Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Dogmatil, as it can enhance the sedative effects.
- Consult your doctor before taking Dogmatil if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Keep this medication out of the reach of children. In case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention.
- Store Dogmatil 200Mg tablets at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.
