    Description

Cloracef 375Mg Susp is an oral antibiotic suspension containing cefaclor, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefaclor works by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, leading to the death of susceptible bacteria. Cloracef 375Mg Suspension is prescribed for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including upper and lower respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia, and pharyngitis), otitis media (middle ear infections), skin and soft tissue infections, and urinary tract infections. The higher strength of 375mg per 5ml of the reconstituted suspension may be prescribed for more severe infections or in patients requiring a higher dose. The powder requires reconstitution with water before use, following the instructions provided on the packaging or by the pharmacist. The specific dosage and duration of treatment will be determined by the prescribing doctor based on the type and severity of the infection, as well as the patient’s age and weight.

    • Higher Strength Cephalosporin Antibiotic: Contains 375mg of cefaclor per 5ml after reconstitution.
    • Broad-Spectrum Antibacterial Action: Effective against a range of susceptible bacteria.
    • Treats Respiratory Tract Infections: Including bronchitis, pneumonia, and pharyngitis.
    • Effective Against Ear Infections (Otitis Media).
    • Used for Skin and Soft Tissue Infections.
    • Indicated for Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs).
    • Oral Suspension: Suitable for patients who prefer or require liquid medication, including children.
    • Requires Reconstitution: Powder form that needs to be mixed with water before administration.
    • Prescription Only: Requires a valid prescription from a healthcare professional.

    Directions for Use:

Before use, the powder in the bottle must be reconstituted with the specified amount of water according to the instructions on the packaging or provided by your pharmacist. Ensure the cap is tightly closed and shake the bottle well until the powder is completely dissolved and the suspension is uniform. Shake the bottle well before each subsequent use. The dosage should be measured accurately using a calibrated measuring spoon or oral syringe as recommended by your doctor. The usual dosage for children is based on their weight and the severity of the infection. Adults will also be prescribed a dose appropriate for their condition. Administer the medication at the intervals prescribed by your doctor, typically two or three times daily. It is important to complete the entire course of treatment, even if symptoms improve before the medication is finished.

    Precautions:

    • This medication should only be used under the direction of a qualified physician.
    • Inform your doctor if you have any known allergies, particularly to cefaclor, other cephalosporin antibiotics (such as cephalexin, cefuroxime, ceftriaxone), or penicillin antibiotics.
    • Provide your doctor with a complete medical history, especially if you have kidney disease or a history of gastrointestinal disorders, such as colitis.
    • Inform your doctor about all other medications you are currently taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, and herbal supplements, as drug interactions can occur.
    • Be aware of potential side effects, which may include gastrointestinal disturbances (such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting), allergic reactions (like skin rash, itching, hives), or, rarely, more severe reactions. If you experience any severe or persistent side effects, discontinue use and seek medical advice promptly.
    • Prolonged use of antibiotics may lead to the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi. If a new infection develops during or after treatment, consult your doctor.
    • If your symptoms do not improve within a few days of treatment or if they worsen, contact your doctor.
    • Keep the reconstituted suspension refrigerated and use within the timeframe indicated on the label, usually 7 to 14 days. Discard any remaining suspension after this period.
    • Store the dry powder at room temperature in a dry place, away from moisture.
    • Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children.
