Description
Augmentin 457mg Syrup is a broad-spectrum antibiotic containing amoxicillin (a penicillin-type antibiotic) and clavulanic acid (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). It is used to treat bacterial infections in children.
Uses:
- Ear infections (otitis media).
- Respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis).
- Sinus infections (sinusitis).
- Skin and soft tissue infections.
- Urinary tract infections.
Dosage and Administration:
The dosage of Augmentin 457mg Syrup will be determined by your child’s doctor based on their weight and the severity of the infection. It is usually administered orally, two or three times a day, as directed by the doctor. Shake the bottle well before each use. Use the provided measuring device to ensure accurate dosing. It can be taken with or without food. Complete the full course of treatment, even if your child starts to feel better.
Warnings:
- Do not use if your child is allergic to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, or any penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics.
- Inform your child’s doctor if they have a history of allergic reactions, kidney problems, or liver problems.
- Inform your child’s doctor about all other medications they are taking, including over-the-counter medications and herbal supplements, as they may interact with Augmentin.
- This medication may cause diarrhea.
- Keep out of reach of children.
