Description
Amlopine 5mg 30 Capsules contain amlodipine besylate, a calcium channel blocker. It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chest pain (angina). Amlodipine works by relaxing blood vessels, which allows blood to flow more easily, and by relaxing and widening the coronary arteries, which increases the supply of blood to the heart muscle.
Uses:
- Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension).
- Treatment of chronic stable angina.
- Treatment of vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal’s angina).
Dosage and Administration:
The usual starting dose is one 5mg capsule taken once daily. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. It can be taken with or without food. Your doctor may increase the dose to 10mg if needed. Follow the dosage instructions provided by your doctor.
Warnings:
- Do not use if you are allergic to amlodipine besylate or any of the other ingredients.
- Use with caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis or heart failure.
- Consult your doctor before use if you have liver problems.
- Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
- Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including over-the-counter medications and herbal supplements, as they may interact with amlodipine.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Possible Side Effects:
- Swelling of the ankles or feet.
- Headache.
- Dizziness.
- Fatigue.
- Flushing.
- Palpitations.
- Nausea.
