Description
Allerfin 4mg 30 Tablets contain chlorphenamine maleate, an antihistamine. It is used to relieve symptoms associated with allergies, such as hay fever (allergic rhinitis), hives (urticaria), and other allergic reactions. Chlorphenamine works by blocking histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.
Uses:
- Relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (hay fever), such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose, and watery eyes.
- Relief of symptoms associated with urticaria (hives), such as itching and rash.
- Relief of symptoms associated with other allergic reactions.
Dosage and Administration:
The usual dose for adults and children over 12 years is one tablet (4mg) every 4-6 hours, as needed. Do not exceed 6 tablets (24mg) in 24 hours. The dosage for children 6-12 years is half a tablet (2mg) every 4-6 hours, as needed. Do not exceed 3 tablets (12mg) in 24 hours. Follow the dosage instructions provided by your doctor or pharmacist.
Warnings:
- Do not use if you are allergic to chlorphenamine maleate or any of the other ingredients.
- Use with caution in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, or bladder neck obstruction.
- Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease or hypertension.
- This medication may cause drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
- Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
- Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including over-the-counter medications and herbal supplements, as they may interact with chlorphenamine.
- Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication.
- Keep out of reach of children.
