Description
Fusiderm B Cream is a combination topical medication containing two active ingredients: fusidic acid and betamethasone valerate. Fusidic acid is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria, while betamethasone valerate is a potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, itching, and redness of the skin.
This cream is used to treat various inflammatory skin conditions where bacterial infection is present or likely to occur. The combination of an antibiotic and a potent corticosteroid helps to both treat the infection and rapidly reduce the associated inflammation and discomfort.
Fusiderm B Cream is indicated for the topical treatment of:
- Eczema (including atopic dermatitis, discoid eczema) with secondary bacterial infection.
- Dermatitis (including contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis) with secondary bacterial infection.
- Other inflammatory skin conditions complicated by bacterial infection where a more potent corticosteroid is required.
Directions for use: Apply a thin layer of Fusiderm B Cream to the affected area(s) one to two times daily, or as directed by your doctor. Gently rub the cream into the skin. The duration of treatment should be limited and as prescribed by your healthcare provider, typically not exceeding two weeks. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Wash your hands thoroughly after each application unless you are treating your hands. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsens after a few days of treatment. Prolonged or continuous use should be avoided, especially on the face, in skin folds, or in children, without medical advice.
